Hunter is a Grimwalker so he is the result of a spell verse being a witch like all the others of the Boiling Isles.. so if the draining spell had continued as he is purely magic maybe.. nothing would have been left.. unlike the witches.. and maybe that’s why it had spread so far up his body!!?!

And Peter would spend the rest of his day with Loki. He would badger him with questions about magic, or drag him across his beloved city to see its entertainments, or take him along stopping petty crimes. He grounded Loki to the here and now, and distracted him from the churning, jagged shards of ice in his mind.

I believe this is from Ghost Stories. The series didn’t do too well in Japan, so when it was translated and dubbed in English, the VA studio was given a rough outline of the plot and were told to do ‘whatever’.
